Right To Play (RTP) is a global non-government organization that uses the transformative power of play to educate and empower children facing adversity. It was founded in 2000 by four-time Olympic gold medalist and social entrepreneur Johann Olav. Right To Play is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
Right To Play is seeking applications from potential youth for the Sports Volunteer Coachs from Thatta & Sujawal.
A Coach is required to undertake the following activities:
- The Coach will conduct daily field visits to project sites: designated community areas/school/s, in Thatta/Sujawal.
- The Coach will give at least 5 hours of his/her daily, at least 6 days a week, to lead play-based sessions with children and youth in schools or community centers.
- Implement Right to Play’s modules with children in school/community setting daily (school days) under the guidance and instruction of Project Manager and Project Coordinator/Assistant.
- Support RTP’s staff in conducting needs assessments (MEAL and other data collection tools) with children for selecting appropriate games from the modules and with schools to assess the need for sports equipment and upgrades.
- Support in selection of Junior Leaders (JLs), and involve teachers and JLs in play and sports sessions
- Support Project team in Organizing sports events and Play days in the school/s assigned by the Project Manager/Project Officer and Project Coordinator/Assistant.
- Must ensure to involve girls and children with disabilities in the play and sports programs.
- Involve teachers and students trained as Leaders in Right to Play resources.
- Regularly fill the logbooks with daily updates and details about the sessions
- Attend the weekly/monthly supervision and debriefing meetings held at the project office.
- Meet one-on-one with the Project Coordinator/Assistant.
- Be actively available through calls, messages, WhatsApp, or any other agreed-upon mode of communication.
- At times, work on off days/late hours, if required.
- Attend capacity building workshops held by the Project and/or Country office
Safeguarding and Child Protection
- Abide by Right To Play's child Safeguarding policy, sign the document 'Standards of Practice’.
- Ensure all project activities are safe, respectful and protect the rights of all Children.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum Qualification required is Intermediate degree.
- At least 01 year of experience working in school setup/field with children/communities in schools or non-formal education settings.
- Basic skills of using software like Gmail, WhatsApp, Teams, Microsoft Office, Zoom etc.
- Must have his/her own internet/smart phone/laptop
- Must have good level of Sindhi, Siraiki, and Urdu writing, speaking and reading skills
- Must be able to travel locally.
- Hardworking and proactive personality with passion for sports and play
- Basic writing, planning, communication, interpersonal relations.
- Eager to learn and grow. This volunteer position involves daily field visits, sometimes including Saturdays.
- Coach having its own conveyance is a plus point
