Position Objective: This position is within the Action Against Hunger Program Development, Partnership and Communication Department. This multi-functional department leads donor reporting, proposal development, internal coordination, and communication across the country programme. This department also supports communications, visibility, advocacy interventions as required. The position will report directly to the Program Development and Partnerships Manager.

Relevant Experience: Masters degree in mass communication or related discipline with at least experience of 3 years in content development. Bachelor Degree in relevant field with minimum 5 years in relevant experience.

Job Description:

 Mission 1: To assist communications and visibility activities of Action Against Hunger Pakistan

The Communication Officer is responsible for:

  • Assist in developing Communications and Visibility Plan for each project.
  • Coordinate and facilitate in drafting monthly Newsletter;
  • Assist field level visibility including recording of this visibility.
  • Development of key communication materials, such as designing and finalization of presentations, case studies, IEC material, human interest stories, Annual Reports etc.;
  • Coordinates with team and partners to collect the success stories, ad-hoc reporting, human interest stories, media monitoring, provide substantial inputs to Program team in writing of quarterly reports;
  • Provide support in identifying, engaging, and networking with print and electronic media professionals across Pakistan;
  • Provide support in communication and visibility activities during emergencies
  • Ensure correct use of logos including on procured items;
  • Maintain an up to date and varied store of photos and videos;
  • Participate and minute important program meetings.
  • Develop project progress presentations 
  • Manage and post relevant material on ACF Pakistan social media handles.

 Mission 2: To support internal coordination within the Action Against Hunger

The Communication Officer is responsible to:

  • Support Communication and Reporting team in finalization of internal and external (donor required) progress reports which includes but not limited to APRs, CRFU, Quarterly Reports, and donor reports;
  • Comply with all internal policies processes and procedures including financial management systems.
  • Maintain and regularly update the reporting and communication data archive both in soft and hard form which includes proposals, contracts and reports.

 Mission 3: Ensure compliance with ACFs gender equality, child protection sensitivity and Safeguarding policies

The Communication Officer is responsible for:

  • Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender, Child Protection and other safeguarding policies
  • Implement all work related activities with a gender, inclusion and child protection lens
  • Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability.
