Overview

The Honeybee Farming Technical Expert will lead a comprehensive training program focused on honeybee farming in Khairpur District as part of our Green Skills Development Project. The expert will utilize extensive experience in modern and sustainable honeybee farming practices. The trainer should be capable of adapting and enhancing the provided curriculum to address local needs and market demands.

This role involves delivering hands-on training, guiding trainees in honey production, hive management, and facilitating market linkages to ensure economic sustainability.

Scope of Work

The Honeybee Farming Technical Expert will be responsible for:

  • Training Program Development: Implement the modified curriculum to deliver effective training sessions on honeybee farming, including hive management, honey production, and product quality improvement.
  • Skills Assessment: Evaluate the skill levels of trainees and adapt the training approach as needed to address their specific needs.
  • Hive and Product Development: Guide trainees in establishing and managing hives, ensuring the production of high-quality honey that meets market standards.
  • Market Linkages: Assist in establishing connections between trainees and potential buyers, providing guidance on marketing and networking opportunities.
  • Progress Reporting: Regularly share progress reports with the project team, including updates on training outcomes, challenges, and achievements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all training activities adhere to high standards and verify the quality of tools, materials, and products used.

 Expected Outputs/Deliverables

  • Monthly and Weekly Work Plans: Develop and submit detailed monthly and weekly work plans based on the provided curriculum.
  • Training Sessions: Conduct training sessions and modify the curriculum as needed to meet the trainees' needs.
  • Skills Assessment Reports: Perform assessments of trainee skills and progress.
  • Hive and Product Development Support: Guide trainees in establishing hives and producing high-quality honey.
  • Progress Reports: Provide regular updates on training progress, challenges, and successes to the project team.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all training materials, hives, and honey products meet the required standards.

Deliverables (60 days):

  • Conduct training sessions and evaluate market demand
  • Facilitate hive and honey product development, and market linkages
  • Provide progress reports and quality assurance

 Methodology

The expert will:

  • Coordinate with Collaborate closely with the team to align training activities with project goals.
  • Implement Training Programs: Deliver training based on the modified curriculum and provide on-site support as needed.
  • Monitor Progress: Regularly update the project team on training progress, challenges, and successes.
  • Market Research: Gather and analyze market information to support honey production and trainee market engagement.
  • The consultant will follow following schedule
    • He will give 04 days for the basic orientation and conceptual clarity to all learners  
    • He will visit the group after 20 days to check the progress and will guide for the next step
    • He will be in close coordination with learners on daily basis
    • He will ensure his visit as per need or demand of the learners for the next step  

 Key Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in honeybee farming and training.
  • Proven ability to adapt and develop training programs based on provided curricula.
  • Strong understanding of market trends and product development in honeybee farming.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel to project areas and engage with local communities.

Reporting Requirements

The expert will report directly to the Project Manager, providing regular updates on training activities, progress, and any challenges encountered. Monthly progress reports and updates on the implementation of work plans are required.
